Aussie Series

 The Aussie series came about after a similar successful series here in NZ " Sweet As Summer Series" celebrating being a Kiwi, our humour and Icons.

I spent near two years in Aussie back in 2000 racing Triathlon and traveling in a VW Kombi van, from the Australian Triathlon Champs in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine coast to the Australian Ironman in Forster Tuncurry.

I met some Dinky Di Aussies at the Ironman who invited me to stay with them on there farm in Perth where I had to compete in the World Tri Champs as part of the New Zealand Triathlon Team.

So off I drove across the Nullarbor to Perth, all the time soaking up the Aussie lifestyle, people and humour.

I lived and worked on there farm in Perth after the World Tri Champs drinking Emu Bitter and doing my run training around a sand swamp with the Bobtail Lizards and Emus.

The love of the great Southern Land stayed with me, so when creating this Ausitarlian series I had true inspiration and respect for the land I got to know and love.
